For further information about our client services, see the applicable service terms.
Collection and use of Information
We collect personal information through the Site and through direct communications and use it for typical business purposes (such as security, anti-fraud, business reporting, and protecting the rights and interests of Tango, you, and others), and, subject to the requirements of applicable law, as described more specifically below:
Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you request a demo or report, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form, or communicate with us by chat, email, or telephone.
- Personal identifiers: We collect personal identifiers (such as your name, email address, and telephone number). We use personal identifiers to respond to your requests and communicate with you for marketing and informational purposes.
- Employment information: We collect employment-related information (such as your company name and job title). We use this information to respond to your requests, improve and personalize the Site, and help us develop and provide you with information we believe will be of interest to you for marketing and informational purposes.
- Message content: We receive the messages you submit through online forms and communications with us. We use this information to respond to and process your requests and improve the Site and our services.
- Geo-location information: Some of the information we collect, such as IP addresses, may be used to estimate an approximate location of the device you are using to access our Site in order to enhance and personalize the features and functionality of the Site and our offerings.
- Anonymous or aggregated information: We de-identify or aggregate data we receive and may use and disclose it for any business purpose.
- Inferences: We may draw inferences from the categories of information described above. This information may be used so that we can improve future user experiences with Tango and the Site and improve our services, and to provide a more personalized experience.
- Job application information: Job applications including personal identifiers, protected class information (such as citizenship), professional, education, and employment information, and other personal details (such as desired salary) may be collected by us directly through the Site, by email, or on our behalf by contracted third-party administrator(s) for applicant tracking purposes and/or by background check providers. We process the information to review your job application and for other employment-related purposes consistent with applicable law, including to contact you regarding your application and/or to contact you about other job openings that we believe may be of interest to you. If you are a California resident, please see the separate California Notice of Collection of Personal Information for Job Applicants, which can be found here.
Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Site
A “cookie” is a small data file that we transfer to your browser or mobile device. Most browsers provide controls whereby you can choose to block receipt of cookies, to delete cookies, or to be prompted before cookies are received. Please note that, if you delete or choose not to receive cookies from our Site, the functionality of the Site may be impaired. To find out more about cookies, including how to manage or delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
Currently, various Internet browsers offer a “Do-Not-Track” option. Because the providers of Do-Not-Track and similar signals do not yet operate according to common, industry-accepted standards, we currently do not respond to those signals.
Information We Collect From Other Sources
We may collect personal contact and preference information and professional and employment information from public and non-public sources for marketing purposes. Examples of public sources include trade directories or websites like LinkedIn. Non-public sources may include event organizers, marketing companies from which we obtain marketing leads, and technology platforms that correlate personal identifiers to assist us in performing email and online marketing and advertising regarding our services. We may link or combine the information we collect from these sources with the information we have collected directly from you for marketing purposes.
Sharing of Information
We may provide third parties with the personal information (for any categories described above) that we collect for our business and commercial purposes to respond to your requests, to provide the Site and any related services to you, to help us market to you, and as more specifically described below:
To Provide, Protect, and Improve Our Sites and Services: We disclose personal information as necessary to operate our business, such as with third-party providers in connection with providing the Site and services to you. For example, we may share personal identifiers with third-party providers to help us with our email and online marketing and advertising activities. We require that such third-party providers use personal information for limited purposes, and we also require assurances that they will appropriately protect personal information entrusted to them. We also may access, preserve, and disclose information if we believe that such action is necessary in our judgment to comply with a legal obligation or to protect and defend our rights or property, or those of others. For example, we may provide information, including IP address information, to third-party providers to protect the Site, such as for fraud detection purposes.
To Comply with the Law and Legal Process: We may access, preserve, and disclose information concerning you if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary in our judgment to comply with a legal obligation.
With Affiliates: We may share information between and among Tango and its current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and other companies under common control and ownership.
Sales, Mergers, and Acquisitions: In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets of or associated with a business unit, or transition of a business unit to another entity (whether by private sale, through operation of law, as part of a divestiture plan, or otherwise), we will provide personal information and transaction history associated with each such business unit to the persons and/or entities assuming control of such business unit or as otherwise necessary to complete the transaction as permitted by law or contract.
Social Sharing Features
The Site may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button), which let you share actions you take on our Site with other media, and vice versa. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature. For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with social sharing features, please visit the privacy policies of the entities that provide these features. We are not responsible for how they treat the information you share.
Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others
We use third-party advertising services to display our online ads to you after you visit the Site, third-party email services to send informational and marketing email, and third-party analytics services to help us understand and improve the usage of our Site and the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. In some situations, we permit the companies providing these services to set and access cookies (and use similar data tools, such as “pixel tags” or “web beacons”) through our Site and our marketing email, and these companies may collect, for example, your personal identifiers (such as IP address, device and browser identifiers and characteristics, and anonymous identifiers) and information about your device (such as operating system and language preferences), and your usage activity on the Site (such as your interaction with our Site, the link you used to reach the Site, and the content and advertising displayed on the Site and our content and advertising on other websites and online services). These companies may use such information to provide advertisements to you on other non-affiliated websites and/or to provide analytical information for our Site. These third-party companies also may collect and combine deidentified information about online activities over time, on other devices, and on other websites or online services, if those websites and online services also use the same partners.
You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from Tango by following the instructions in the promotional messages. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account or our ongoing business relations.
Retention of Personal Information
We keep information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and as permitted or required by law, such as to comply with record-keeping and other legal obligations. There may also be residual information that will remain within our backup files, databases, and other records, which will be deleted in accordance with retention policies.
Tango takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
Transfer of Information to the U.S. and Other Countries
Certain jurisdictions impose specific legal requirements and privacy rights with respect to personal information, and we will comply with restrictions and any requests you submit as required by applicable law. For example, you may have the right to review, correct, and delete personal information we have about you, or to consent or withdraw consent to certain uses or sharing of personal information. You may be able to use the Site to access and update the information that you have provided to us through your use of the Site or otherwise. If you would like to request access to such information or that we update, correct, or delete any such information, please send an email to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you make a request, we may require that you provide information and follow procedures so that we can verify a request you make and your jurisdiction before responding to it. The verification steps we take may differ depending on your jurisdiction and the request you make. We will match the information that you provide in your request to information we already have on file to verify your identity. If we are able to verify your request, we will process it. If we cannot verify your request, we may ask you for additional information to help us verify your request.
We will respond to your request within the time period required by applicable law. However, we may not always be able to fully comply with your request, and we will notify you in that event.
California Privacy Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), California consumers have the following rights: to request additional information about our data collection, use, disclosure, and sales practices as a business in connection with the consumer’s personal information; to request the specific Personal Information collected about the consumer during the previous 12 months; and to request the deletion of personal information we have about the consumer in our role as a business. California consumers also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment if they exercise the rights list above.
California law permits California consumers to use an authorized agent to make privacy rights requests. We require the authorized agent to provide us with proof of the California consumer’s written permission (for example, a power of attorney) that shows the authorized agent has the authority to submit a request for the California consumer. An authorized agency must follow the process described below to make a request, and we will additionally require the authorized agent to verify his/her own identity and registration to do business in California and we will confirm the agent’s authority with the California consumer about whom the request was made.
To make requests, California consumers may call us at (855) 938-2646, email us at: email@example.com. Consumers may be required to submit name and email address, or other information, so that we can verify the request.
We do not sell your personal information for money or other consideration. We also do not rent, sell, or share “personal information” as defined by California Civil Code §1798.83 about you that we collect on the Site with other people or unaffiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes.
California residents who use job application features of the Sites should see our California Job Applicant Notice of Collection, which may be posted on the job application webpage(s) and is also available here.
